All day long! But it didn’t stop us going to Maeshowe, an impressive and important Neolithic cairn dating from 2750BC.

Going back 5000 years to Skara Brae, a unique Neolithic village, was fascinating.

Up to Ostuni and up some more
Yesterday I wasn’t sure I was going to do this loop to Ostuni as it is the hilliest ride with the longest distance – about 50km – because my back has been bothering me.

After we left our little stone house and were soon skimming along the country lanes.

Conversano to Alberobello
We left the screaming swifts (they are everywhere in wonderful abundance) and headed into the countryside. Lots of olive groves with broad beans growing among them.
Conversano – a medieval gem
Conversano is apparently made up of 3 separate towns but I think we mostly wandered around the oldest bit dating from the 11th to 15th centuries.
